Google Chrome, Safari and Mozilla Firefox users will now be able to receive Instagram activity notifications. Instagram will request permission and after getting the green light, you will get notifications about new likes, comments and followers.
Instagram notifications now work across not only mobile application and web version, but also within Instagram Lite, the low-resource and low-data application alternative. Lite version has previously been launched for Facebook mobile application, which proved to be more functional and convenient than the regular version, taking up little space and providing the essential features. The company has continued with the idea and launched Instagram Lite earlier this year in Mexico. It’s expected to be available worldwide as soon as its testing phase is over.
This development gives hope Instagram is getting closer to giving the full mobile app experience for web and Lite versions users. Introduction of direct messages and video uploading will make life of both regular platform users and Instagram marketers a whole lot easier.
